About Us

Our Story

image14

LZ JRZ (Pronounced LZ Jersey) was initially formed as therapy for veterans with PTSD.  The band quickly grew to a professional band that performs regularly. The Bands name, "LZ JRZ",  was chosen to reflect the military service of its members, "LZ" for Landing Zone, and "JRZ" for its home state of New Jersey. Some of the members have been playing music for several decades and have performed with renowned musicians such as Ed Shaunessy, drummer from the Tonight Show Band, as well as other artists. Special Thanks to Charles Wuth, Counselor at The Lakewood Vet Center who supported and headed The Music Therapy Program for veterans with PTSD.

What Inspires Us

image15

Despite sharing many of the same interests and pastimes, we all are inspired by different influences that lead us to work seamlessly in a creative setting. We each bring our individual musical talents to the group to create a unique sound.
Our Musical selections are designed to appeal to a wide audience.  We also add our own interpretations to the music we play to make well known music sound fresh and new.

Our Influences

Our music blends rock, acoustic melodies, and electronic to create a unique sound. We perform music of many genres including rock, soft rock, blues, as well as many classic selections. To create a unique sound, we add instruments to our music such as banjos, acoustic guitars, vibraphone, assorted percussion instruments, and many more not seen in other bands.
